Have you ever had that feeling that something is so obvious to you but others can’t see it? It can be frustrating trying to find a way to easily communicate your ideas.
Well, this happened to me recently while speaking to a client about their data…he was insistent that although his data wasn't great, he couldn't see a reason to cleanse it as the company was doing well and couldn't see the importance of it.
I tried, but failed to convince him that there really is value in cleaning up his data.
I needed a new way to communicate the value…for some people it’s obvious but others need more convincing.
Relying on my maths backgrounds, I thought I would relate the value of data using some numbers.
I’ve put together a short video to illustrate my point.
I’ve used a simple example of direct marketing to show lost sales due to poor data.
The principles in this video apply to all measurable marketing activities. You can use your own marketing numbers to see the impact of poor data. The results can be a real eye opener!
